We have a strong belief in assisting our community through our involvement with youth programs, sports, sponsorships, and other projects of interest. Funds are often limited, but when there is a determination of true need TWG Landscaping and Property Maintenance Inc. will proudly put our best efforts forward to help.
Over the past few years we have enlisted the assistance of some of our amazing suppliers to aid us in getting the job done. Support has been received from businesses in the Region offereing product assistance, donated labour, and recycled materials to build ithe hopes and dreams of those who need it most.
Regardless of the size of the donation/assistance, all offerings are passed directly to the benefactor, providing a quality product and improved lifestyle. For those we have supported, it adds up to a great deal in the grand scheme of things. For TWG there is a feeling of pride in our community to make a difference when we can. The Participation House Project (Durham Region)
Recognixing a milestone of 35 years in Durham Region in 2010, The Participation House Project ("PH") is a not-for-profit organization that provides services and support to youths and adults with developmental and physical difficulties. Services include residential housing and homes, person-sentered care, supported living, day programs, life skills teaching, and respite opportunities for families. As funding became increasingly more difficult to meet the growing needs of the community, partners like TWG are essential and help PH sustain agency services.
TWG's first project of 2010 was a Participation House Project property in Bowmanville, Ontario. THe goal was to provide an attractive wheelchair accessible ramp, while maintaining the non-commercial look at the entrance of the home, in its present community.
Upon viewing the scope of the project and the costs to complete it, TWG determined Participation House Project to be a good candidate for financial assistance. It was within our means to afford a group of people the betterment of community living that would fit their property, provide the residents better ease of movement, and offer a modern entrance to warmly greet family, friends, and visitors.
TWG took the project on in the Fall of 2009, providing all possible labour at discounted rates and the coordination of materials for the project. The first stage of construction to build teh stone ramp foundation was completed to the delight of the residents in early winter. In its second stage of completion, the design and construction of the ramp was softened with plants and detailed finishes. When improved weather conditions became available suppliers provided lush greenery as a finishing touch. The project was completed late April 2010.
