Located in the Distillery District of Toronto this Triangular island as was once a paved desolute strip of nothing and metal protective bumpers, left nothing to the mind as you passed it by. Sitting in the middle of the road was a challenge but the fact that city infrastructure was again buried below made for tricky digging. The design was a colaboration of Carson Arthur and Ecoscapes but once building started we were forced to amend it further with Carson to correct some design dilemmas. The products posed a problem that needed dealing with but the project did wind up coming together after a lot of stone, alot of wood and a lot of plants were infused to produce the look desired, we incorporated the hand made bird, bat, and butterfly houses to invite the use for plants and encourage the inhabitants of the area. Areas were available to sit and enjoy the sights which would make this project a complete success in the name of makeover from useless to a totally useable and contributing part of that community.
