Located at Don Mills and Shepphard Ave., the peanut shaped peice of land owned by the Anglican church was a place where the community convened not just in the name of religion but to plant, grow, and harvest the fruit of their labors in what proved to be a garden of abundance, feeding hundreds.
The garden was repurposed to incorporate the beauty and permanence of Perennials in a central community gathering area where one could just sit and talk and surrounded by paths to gardens high enough for wheel chair accessible planting for those who would love to but just couldn't participate, and further surrounded by more planting areas to house the many fruits and vegetables which would feed many famillies in need.
The design by Haig Safarian was a pleasure to manage and build because the outcome was so multipurposed and functional one only need to envision the benefits to put forth the efforts.
